David Macklin, a Four Seasons veteran, has moved
to Guangzhou as General Manager of the group’s luxury hotel
there.

Born in England and raised in Australia, David first joined
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts over 22 years ago, working as
Front Office Manager at The Regent, Hong Kong before moving to the
Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC as Director of Rooms in 2001.
Since then, David has worked at Four Seasons
hotels in Tokyo, Sydney, Hoi-An and most recently in Langkawi
where he received his first GM appointment.
A graduate of Adelaide Hospitality School who
furthered his education with a Catering and Hospitality Diploma
from the City and Guild of the London Institute, David rounded out
his formal education at the General Managers Academy from Cornell
University’s prestigious School of Hotel Administration.
David, a keen outdoorsman with a passion for
cylcling, is looking forward to discovering Guangzhou and its
surrounding areas on two wheels.
“There is no better way to discover a place than
on a bike,” David said. “You can see the city from the ground up and it is
a great way to assimilate with a diverse range of people.”
